“Whirlpool” di Masaaki Miyasako

Opened at Palazzo Pitti, in the halls of'A passage of Angiolini's Gallery, the first Italian exhibition of the Japanese artist Masaaki Miyasako. Edited by Junji Ito and presented last year at the Budapest History Museum and the Museum of the East of Lisbon, exposure arrive in Florence until 29 June. One of the main features is the ancient Japanese art lightness and mastery of execution, feature which complies fully Miyasako, reaching heights of sophistication minimalist.
In the West, the influence of Japanese art was enormous. Japanese prints arrived in the Netherlands through the East India Company and from there it spread throughout Europe. The scenes of daily life, their representation in a two-dimensional, with a flat application of color, totally without chiaroscuro, gave rise to the phenomenon of artistic Japonism, who had great influence on Impressionism that was being born. The Ukiyo-e print was inspired by Van Gogh, Many, Stays, Degas, Renoir, Pisarro e anche per e poi per Klimt Art Nouveau. Since, however, it seems that the Japanese art has stopped, without finding the courage to enter the modern world. Not so for Masaaki Miyasako.

The exhibition proposals 30 works, mostly large or composite panels. Coming from the greatest museums in Japan and in part also from private collections and the artist's last, the paintings represent fully the aesthetics of Miyasako, Japan considered the leader of the recovery of the tensile, but also one of the most innovative painters of the time. Aesthetic that comes with joy presented in Florence, where began the modern conception of art.
