Appointment with Pop art in Florence on 9 November at the Florence Art Deposit Gallery. The works of the multifaceted artist are on stage Vincenzo Giubba: architetto, artist and designer. His name is linked to the city of Florence for having founded Accademia Italiana, Art Fashion Design. He recently moved to Rome and to his atelier in Trastevere, after years as a fashion entrepreneur, he picked up his brushes again to carry forward a passion that has never faded over time: l’arte. In fact, it should be remembered that since the 1990s Vincenzo Giubba has exhibited his works in various Italian cities. His is a production that takes up the dictates of pop culture and then distances itself from it. His characters take on ironic aspects, sometimes funny but also dramatic, a drama that arises from internalized worlds, quotes and memories. In 1994 Lorenzo Bonini, in the preface of the volume “Paths between form and chaos”, states that Vincenzo Giubba's art appears apparently gestural while in reality it is conducted with extreme rigor and discipline “there is a real premeditation that filled the hours and perhaps the days preceding the writing, when the creative and speculative tension was extreme“.
Il titolo della mostra:”Shared worlds” (Shared worlds) it is the result of a new awareness on the part of the artist who rereads and transforms his works even intervening with new brushstrokes, especially white, on the old colors, while other times it intervenes by fragmenting them, says Giubba “It was like retracing the past in the light of awareness of the present, a brighter light.”

An inner search that is strengthened by the chromatic strength, in this regard the art historian Marta Paraventi: “The blinding light of yellows, of the greens, of oranges, of the blues, set among flashes of white or black, recalls the artifice of neon, the incessant messages of advertising”.
