The city of the plain revives its summer with the edition 2023 of Lamezia Summertime directed by Michele Monetta. The project is carried out by the Municipality of Lamezia Terme in collaboration with Arci Lamezia Terme/Vibo Valentia as project partners, and is financed by the Calabria Region with CAP resources 2014.2020 Axis VI – Action 6.8.3 – Scope 1.6. The events underlying the cultural format have as their main aim to revitalize the historical-architectural spaces hidden by oblivion. In particular, the historic city centers and the Benedictine Abbey of S. Eufemia represent the ideal stage for a cultural proposal in the name of the art-entertainment combination that, in recent years, has established the historic urban centers of the city of Lamezia Terme as places with a strong identity vocation.
The edition 2023 of Lamezia Summertime is dedicated to Piero Bonaccurso, historic founder of teatrop,
passed away prematurely.

2 great theater shows at the Benedictine Abbey of S. Eufemia,

musical and theatrical performances,
The event will open on Tuesday 25 July with Cinema and Cinema, co-artistic direction Ivan Falvo D'Urso. The
the first novelty of this edition is represented by the choice of a new location. It is a park
Riverine, the Barisco Park, in the historic center of Nicastro, which was finally returned to the community and
which will host the Cinema and Cinema programming 2023. The start is scheduled for 3pm 21.00 and, to give everyone the opportunity to attend the screenings, the cost of the ticket has not undergone any changes compared to the previous edition 4 € for the full ticket e 3 € for the reduced price (under 25/over 65).

For the section TeatrOltre: il Teatro Ritrovato, co-artistic direction Pierpaolo Bonaccurso, the shows
will take place at the Benedictine Abbey of S. Eufemia. The project includes two theatrical events in
billboard designed specifically for the archaeological site, reducing the impact of the scenography to a minimum
maximum respect for the place, without introducing technical elements that could upset the environment e
create disturbing conditions. The online ticket service will also be active for the shows at the Abbey.
Saturday 29 July will be guest Elisabetta Pozzi, with the show CASSANDRA. Considered one of the most
great artists of the Italian scene, Elisabetta Pozzi has been working for many years around the themes and archetypes of
Mito: Elektra at Hoffmansthal, Medea, Hippolytus and Hecuba by Euripides, Elena and Fedra of Ghiannis Ritsos, are
just some of the texts he has tackled throughout his career.
Friday 11 August will be the turn of Stefano Massini with The alphabet of emotions.
TeatrOltre: Festival Internazionale di Teatro in Strada, always with the artistic co-direction of Pierpaolo
Bonaccurso, will take place on Corso Numistrano, in the historic center of Nicastro, in three days: 14, 15 and 16
September. They will be there, however, previews of Teatro Ragazzi in the historic center of Sambiase, in the first
weekend in September and a big final event on Saturday 23 September.

The 29 and 30 September will end with Lamezia Wine Fest, co-artistic direction Pierluigi Fragale.
L’evento, created in collaboration with the Italian Sommelier Calabria Foundation, it will take place in the garden courtyard of Palazzo Nicotera-Severisio. This edition also includes an "oil tasting" corner which will again be managed by the Italian Sommelier Calabria Foundation, a craft beer tasting and a tasting corner organized by the Slow Food Convivium of Lamezia to which professional sommeliers will match the wines of the guest cellars as well as a finger food buffet with a reworking
contemporary of Calabrian gastronomic excellences. The evenings will be enlivened by music concerts and theatrical performances. During the event, it will also be possible to visit the House of the Ancient Book housed in the same Palace.
