Refugee Hotel is the story of a journey of refugees newly arrived in the United States beginning with the first day for night, passed at a motel on the airport road.
A refugee is by definition a person who has crossed a border to escape religious persecution, policy, sessuale o etnica. Each year tens of thousands of refugees are reinstated in the United States. For six years, in collaboration with the International Organization for Migration and other important humanitarian groups, Stable has worked in several states of the Union for photographing Cuban refugees, African, Asian and Middle Eastern, from the moment they entered America through the crucial and painful process of reintegration.
Once in America, in fact, refugees clash with the difficulties related to the inclusion of new communities and adaptation to new rules of coexistence, learn a foreign language, adapt to a culture dramatically different.
The sample, already successfully presented to the public and critics, in September 2013 a New York, dal Bronx Documentary Center, is accompanied by a volume, published by McSweeney's (San Francisco, 2013) that collects photographs, first-person testimony, and a guide to the process of reintegration in the United States.
