Pitti Immagine Filati 79, the Fortezza da Basso in Florence from 29 June to 1 July 2016, It presents excellence in yarns to its audience of international buyers from all over the world and designers of the most important names in fashion.
Star of this 79th edition, the world premiere of autumn-winter 2017/18 delle collezioni di filati per maglieria. Pitti Italics will present for the first time also a special event at Pitti Filati. Protagonist is SANSOVINO 6, brand founded by American designer – adopted Milan – Edward Buchanan, that will march in the frame of the Teatro della Pergola in Florence (Thursday 30 June, hours 15.30).
It amplifies and reinforces the new edition of Feel the Yarn, the competition dedicated to the aspiring designers from a selection of the best international fashion schools and aimed at supporting young talents that will stand out for their original knitted creations. The competition involves 26 studenti, selected by 13 prestigious fashion schools and international design, and 22 spinning italiane, coordinated by the Consortium Promotion Yarn, and at Pitti Filati with collections for the F / 2017-18.
The theme of the competition, coordinated by Ornella Bignami of Fashion Elements, è Knitting Time: the shirt as an expression of the rhythm of daily life, for 24 hours of pure creativity.
The work of the finalists are exhibited with an original allestitivo display at the Main Pavilion Lower Level, and will be subject to an assessment of all visitors and an international jury of high-profile. Yet, a special prize, “Splendour of Life”, It will be offered by Salvatore Ferragamo in the project who will play the best beauty typical of the Italian lifestyle. During Pitti Filati finalists will have the chance to do one-on-one meetings with designers and representatives of the style bureaus of brands present at the show as a buyer.
The award ceremony of Feel the Yarn is scheduled for Friday 1 luglio alle ore 12.00, Cavedio in the Lower Level of the Main Pavilion.
For the first time ever on stage at the Fortezza da Basso in Florence, Doctors inside the Pavilion, Vintage Selection It is the exhibition-clothing market, accessori e oggetti di design vintage. A change of location which deals exclusively with summer editions, designed to enhance even more synergy with Pitti Filati, and offer an additional service to professionals. The guiding theme of this 28th edition is "The right numbers" in line with the same theme of the summer events of Pitti Immagine, “Pitti Lucky numbers”.
