“Pink”: Collection and Giancarlo Danna Olgiati

Da Domenico 21 September to 7 December 2014 reopens to the public at the Lugano space -1 dedicated to the contemporary art collection of Giancarlo and Danna Olgiati.
It is also this year the exhibition proposal with more than 140 Olgiati works from the collection of some of the most important international artists of the avant-gardes of the twentieth and twenty-first century.
In the new set-up is a section titled PINK dedicated to women artists, different generations and yet similar in their extraordinary impact on the art scene in which they act. In mostra, in the PINK, works by Carla Accardi (1924-2014), Kerstin Bratsch (1969), Heidi books (1926-1993), Niki De Saint Phalle (1930-2002), Chiara Dynys (1958), Shannon Ebner (1971), Mona Hatoum (1953), Rebecca Horn (1944), Roni Horn (1955), Liz Larner (1960), Marisa Merz (1926), Paola Pivi (1971), R.H. Quaytman (1961), Pamela Rosenkranz (1979), Tatiana Trouvè (1968), Rachel Whiteread (1963). The exhibition also want to make a tribute to the Italian artist Carla Accardi (1924-2014), recently scomparsa. Will be some works of large dimensions among the most significant of his artistic.
As regards the widest collection on display at -1, Chapters exhibition dedicated to the founding nuclei (Arte Povera, New Realism and the collection of books and original documents Futurists, just to name a few) remain unchanged compared to previous exhibitions, but are enriched with new entries works extremely important; among them a map of Alighiero Boetti, a marble sculpture by Luciano Fabro, a historical work of 1982 Anish Kapoor at. They will also present works by contemporary artists recently acquired and disseminated within the historical centers of the collection (Douglas Gordon, Karl Haendel, Sterling Ruby e Not Vital).
