Operating Contemporary Art presents Antropofagia Symbiotic, first personal project Leonardo Petrucci (Grosseto 1986) for the gallery space.
The sample, particularly, focuses on the universe of the biological Praying Mantis, which, as is known, kills his partner during playback. Through this parallel, the artist explores the ways that accompany the relationships between individuals (no coincidence that the title refers to a human rather than animal behavior) and that appear related to a relationship of mutual oppression. This phenomenon is read in alchemy, not with a negative connotation, but as a moment of regeneration and mutation. The exhibition installation whose peculiarity is the presence of manatees that live, while in the gallery, gravitate around a specially crafted environment and ca- characterized by a dynamic dialectic between opposites.
There will also be a number of other works that, similarly to the previous, using the symbolic language of alchemy as a means to make the ability of art to transform significantly the surrounding matter. Leonardo Petrucci (Grosseto 1986) lives and works in Rome. He graduated in 2009 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, in 2013 is invited to the Macro Testaccio in the joint "Nettle - Organic Theme in Contemporary Art" by Artnoise; In the same year he exhibited at the Temple University in Rome in the exhibition "Unison", and the collective project "The weight of my light" and participates in the residence "Studies of Harmony, educational site with Alfredo Pirri "Visitor Center Cupone in the Sila National Park and Camigliatello Silano (Cosenza).
