ATT celebrates 25 years at Palazzo Vecchio

The Tuscany Tumor Association ATT celebrates 25 years of activity with a special event in a location that has always represented the heart of the city of Florence: the Salone dei Cinquecento. During the evening the most significant moments in the history of the association were retraced, in the presence of many friends, supporters and representatives of the institutions. The event was a tribute to the teamwork that made all this possible, and a moment of reflection on future projects.

Present at the evening was the Mayor of Florence Sara Funaro, the Vice President of the Region Stefania Saccardi, the Archbishop of Florence Gherado Gambelli and the Councilor for the Ecological Transition of the Municipality of Prato, Marco Biagioni. The event was enriched by the presence of a representative of ACF Fiorentina, and the artists Gaia Nanni, Ubaldo Pantani and Cristiano Militello. During the ceremony there was then the presentation of the ATT awards. The one from dancer and television personality Carolyn Smith was withdrawn by dance teacher Noemi Ficola, while the one assigned to the CR Firenze Foundation was withdrawn by the Vice President Maria Oliva Scaramuzzi.

These 25 years represent a journey of dedication, love and care towards those who are more fragile – recalled the president of ATT, Giuseppe Spinelli –. Our primary objective is to be a constant and reassuring presence in the homes of cancer patients, bringing not only cures, but also comfort and hope. With this anniversary, ATT renews its commitment to the future, continuing to put the cancer patient and their quality of life at the center”.

In recent years ATT has responded with promptness and dedication to 21.017 overall support requests; ensuring 68.367 medical accesses, 236.217 nursing services, 23.849 psychological interviews, 524 home visits to physiotherapists e 522 access for nutritionist consultations. From 1999 ad oggi, TO have the harvest 28.402.034,17 of euros, funds that have allowed us to continuously improve the services offered, guaranteeing free oncology home care of the highest quality.

Twenty-five years of commitment and dedication, twenty-five years alongside cancer patients, of their families, twenty-five years of great effort for the best assistance and awareness-raising actions. – said the mayor Sara FunaroATT's is a beautiful and important story of solidarity that we are proud to celebrate here at Palazzo Vecchio, in the Salone dei Cinquecento. Celebrate the 25 years of the Tuscany Cancer Association means paying homage to a quarter of a century dedicated with passion and professionalism to the assistance of cancer patients and their families. ATT has been able to build a network of solidarity and support that represents a model of excellence in our health and social system. Their daily commitment has improved the quality of life of thousands of people, offering not only medical care, but also human comfort. The Tuscany Region recognizes and strongly supports the work carried out by ATT, aware that the strength of a community is also measured by its ability to take care of the most fragile. We look to the future with the certainty that, together, we will be able to continue to guarantee increasingly effective services that are closer to citizens' needs.” – said the President of the Tuscany Region Eugenio Giani.
