“Trevi. A capital in the mirror” – Museo di Roma in Trastevere

Of the approximately 200 exhibits on display, the main part consists of photographic reproductions in large format, supplemented by maps of the city, with the reproduction of enlargements rione Trevi or its portions, as well as photographs taken in connection with a documentation of current aspects of the ward.
The reference is to the territorial rione Trevi in its original configuration, thus comprising the current districts and Trevi Sallustian, with attention also to some adjacent areas, in particular those of the Termini railway station and Via Nazionale, whose evolution is closely linked to the strategic axis of the Via Pia, poi via XX Settembre, which became the seat of the fundamental organs and systems of the State.
The exhibition offers a key to understanding the transformations Roma Capitale and the process of modernization of the city, with a special focus on the period between 1870 and the thirties of the twentieth century in which some of the innovations are made more emblematic of the construction of the new capital of the unified Italy.
