Florence rediscovers its most joyful tradition with the fourth edition of the Florence Carnival, scheduled Saturday 31 January and Sunday 1 February 2026. An event that unites history, spectacle and solidarity, inspired by the Renaissance Carnival of Lorenzo the Magnificent and the famous motto “Who wants to be happy, is".
The heart of the event will be the Grand Ball “Queens at the Palace”, Saturday evening at Palazzo Vecchio, e la Carnival parade, Sunday afternoon in the historic center. The Dance, artistically directed by Antonia Sautter, will feature the excellence of Florentine craftsmanship, a scenographic setup inspired by the game of chess and a starred dinner signed by the chef Paolo Lavezzini. Part of the proceeds will be donated to Tommasino Bacciotti Foundation.
Sunday 1 February, pm 15, space for the open and free party with the Carnival parade, guided by the traditional mask of Stenterello. Music, extras and masks will liven up the streets until the best creations are awarded, decreed by the Grand Jury which will award the Stenterello Award 2026, made by the goldsmith Paolo Penko. Among the new features of this edition, a “hymn to joy” specially composed by the DJ and producer Remo Giugni, which will accompany the entire program as the soundtrack of the event. The Florence Carnival is thus confirmed not only as a great spectacular event, but as a cultural and solidarity project, capable of telling the identity of the city amidst tradition, creativity and inclusion.
