Gaetano Perrone born in Calabria, precisely in the province of Cosenza Castrovillari, is a shoe designer from talented.
Linguistic high school diploma, fashion course at IED in Rome and Master in Fashion Management at the IED in Milan. Like any self-respecting Southern boy has a very strong bond with his family, especially for the grandchildren who never cease to amaze me. The family has learned that "At all ( almost ) no remedy, why be optimistic and energy without being afraid of making mistakes. He taught me to believe in my abilities”.
If the family is in first place even friends have a major role in the life of Gaetano "Friendship is the spice of life, friends are the second family, it is with them that I shared the really important experiences of my life”.
Gaetano has a great "curiosity and respect" for art and’ a source of inspiration in his work. As a child he dreamed of being a cook and as an adult here he is at work on behalf of major fashion houses: Antonio Berardi, Ungaro, Sergio Rossi, Kenzo with Marras, Dior, Gianvito Rossi, Iceberg, Ferragamo and then McQueen Sarah Burton. “Mc Queen is a brand that has given me so much and to which I have given so much ... And mainly because it is one of the few companies in which I would like to work”.
Very often we are traveling for work, (London, Milan) “When I'm in Bologna I get up at 7:30 about, I make a good breakfast, I look at my garden and, if I do not have out of town commitments, I rest in my office all day until 20/20:30. They dine happily at home and awake rest till late”.
Our Gaetano has a great passion for the history "among the favorite characters is definitely Catherine de Medici: una donna, Apparently not beautiful and underestimated, who managed to rule France by foreign and without a drop of blue blood.. Civilizing the court of France. Florence was the vanguard and Caterina a new court took as cutlery, the taste and the Italian fashion. What do you like about your job?
“I love all of my work, especially following the birth of the product at the factory. Non amo i ritmi forzati e tutto ciò che della moda si comunica: non è quel che sembra… la moda è un mondo produttivo fatto da aziende che rischiano tutto ad ogni nuova presentazione, con delle grandi professionalità”.
La città in cui ti piacerebbe vivere?
“Al sud, forse a Catania. Banalmente per il clima, il mare e perché la Sicilia è una terra molto bella”.
Catania è una città oltre che bella di grande vitalità, non posso darti torto. What is for you the elegance?
“La consapevolezza del proprio carisma, comunicato attraverso il modo di muoversi parlare e vestire”.
Qual è il capo fondamentale per un uomo e per una donna?
“Uno su tutti, per tutti: LE SCARPE!”.
Non avevo dubbi sulla tua risposta, chissà perche!
“Ok. Per l’uomo aggiungerei i gemelli, per le donne i gioielli. Il mio è una cintura con la fibbia martellata”.
E se ti chiedessi cosa non vorresti che un uomo e una donna indossassero mai?
“Delle brutte scarpe!”.
Repetita iuvant. Abbiamo capito che la scarpa è davvero una tua fissa. Gaetano che rapporto ha con la moda?
“It’ nata come una passione e un’ ossessione. Oggi è il mio lavoro: spesso un incubo, ma comunque mi ritengo molto fortunato. Odio e amore direi”.
Se dico shopping?
“Profumi.. Amo lo shopping in profumeria”.
Your Favourite dish?
“Tanti… Forse su tutti la parmigiana di melanzane (di casa mia), e poi da bolognese acquisito i tortellini le lasagne e le tagliatelle. Mi vengono bene i risotti. Il segreto? Il burro e un buon brodo. Non il dado!”.
Finalmente qualcuno che sa cucinare. Preparati verrò presto a Bologna allora. Think of a color?
“Verde giada. There is not a reason, I feel my, stop”.
