“We become human again”. Almost an appeal that the cover of Vogue Italia of the new issue on newsstands from 5 Longobards. In the wake of the theme of the Biennale, Vogue wanted to create a story with a protagonist Vittoria Ceretti, scattata da Rafael Pavarotti which represented an important reflection on the man-machine-nature relationship, with the hope and invitation of a return to empathy. In the shots, extremely artistic, Vittoria Ceretti lent herself, first, to a very conceptual interpretation of itself: she is the protagonist and muse of a story of metamorphosis and transformation.
The topic is linked to what will be at the center of the 59. International Art Exhibition organized by the Venice Biennale. This edition will in fact focus on themes such as the representation of bodies and their metamorphoses; the relationship between individuals and technologies; the connection between bodies and the Earth. As the photographer Pavarotti explains in a letter published in the issue there is a new and unknown world emerging, far beyond the reach of our gaze and our senses. The economy, la politica, art and society are constantly changing. Climate changes, environmental and technological causes us to have to rethink our actions and reactions. The man-machine-nature relationship strengthens with each new lunar cycle. This issue highlights how in an ocean of doubts it makes sense to cling to possibilities.
Hence the choice to create a cover shoot conceived as a work of art. Art in fact, as a movement and mirror of the Zeitgeist, reveals how alternative possibilities have been at the center of attention over the last few years. Artistic representation as an extension of the human being has conveyed to us that the time has come for empathy to reign, brotherhood and compassion. The time has come to assume our responsibilities and understand the interconnectivity of everything. An Instagram filter created by the artist Karol Sudolski will soon be available for all users and readers of Vogue Italia, inspired by the cover shoot and the metamorphosis of Vittoria Ceretti.
