Quattrozampeinfiera presents the Tactile Garden inspired by Bruno Munari's wood

Quattrozampeinfiera the most famous "pet friendly two days" in Italy presents the Tactile Garden di the HAD Human Animal Design. A BolognaFiere Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 May a mega installation designed by Amelia Valletta and Marco Maggioni. Inspired by Bruno Munari's tactile forest, artist and designer who supported the need to help children grow by developing all their senses, so as not to make them lose the meaning of life. If tactile stimulation is essential in the human learning process, it is even more so for animals. A project that wants to amaze the visitor, but above all invite him to reflect on the need to rethink the domestic space making it more suitable for dogs and cats. A home that pays more attention to the species-specific characteristics of the animal, to his needs, favoring adaptation in a built environment that is very different from its natural habitat.

As visitors move through the fair, meet the Tactile Garden with 4 sections dedicated to cats, to the dog and, naturalmente, to man's relationship with them. There are three sections dedicated to cats, to his curiosity and kinesthetic dimensions, playful and zenithal that distinguish many of his behaviors. The cat can climb on the wall-mounted shelves, climb, go out, scratch-mark, look unnoticed, and naturally, find a refuge away from the chaos. The walls of the installation are inspired by natural elements such as the tree-of-life, the sun heat, and the water-cascade.

At the center of the installation we find the "meanders", giant sofas with organic shapes, where man and dog can lie down together on the ground and strengthen their relationship through proximity rituals, affection and affiliation, sharing spaces and resources. A place of coexistence where man welcomes the animal's point of view, tending to take a less anthropocentric position, more attentive to the needs of others and their otherness. The sections of the installation are made with tactile materials that encourage greater involvement of the senses, the surfaces are designed to enrich the animals' perceptive and cognitive experience.

Through specific or more widespread interventions, The HAD works on the environmental qualities of architectural spaces, in terms of capacity, articulation, arredi, equipment, materiali, with scalable interventions depending on the needs identified. The HAD method demonstrates how a well-conceived space can positively impact the animal's behavior and its psycho-physical balance, encouraging adaptation to the domestic space and generating new opportunities for expressive ease, in line with his talents and desires. Quattrozampeinfiera will also be much more.
