“Kcho. Via Crucis” di Alexis Leiva Machado

From 4 May 4 June 2014 a Roma, at the Palace of the Chancellery, belonging to the Holy See, if the sample dell'artista Earth Cuban Alexis Leiva Machado, better known as Kcho. The exhibition is sponsored by Bettini & Co Gallery, under the patronage of the Embassy of Cuba to the Holy See and the Pontifical Council for Culture of the Vatican State and with the support of the Veneto Banca and Blupanorama Airlines. The exhibition is curated by Eriberto Bettini.
Entitled "Kcho. Via Crucis”, the exhibition presents approximately twenty-five works by Cuban artist, recounting the odyssey of all those who choose the way of the sea chasing the dream of a better life.
The works on display in Rome Kcho have been designed specially for the occasion and exhibit sometimes the concrete idea of ​​the cross through the meeting of the oars perpendicular: we can observe in a recent Untitled. The concept is taken up by the individual with its load of torment over his shoulder through the populated beach boat stuck in the sand like so many dolmens: sadly this canvas dipped in blue is called not surprisingly Way of the Cross 2013. And the same signal appears at times on the boat the same way as a standard or as an indication of a route from groped: it is discovered among the survivors of the Cross in Lampedusa and two other works that are not indicated by a title.
