The 19 February there will be a preview at the Fortezza da Basso in Florence, which this year will only be open to journalists: a whole day, from 9 to 18, during which tastings will be offered.
The May event will be, instead, open to the entire public and will be itinerant.
“A traditional appointment, the other innovative: at a time of important challenges for the world of wine, our Consortium chooses to double and relaunch – says the president of the Chianti Wine Consortium, Giovanni Busi -. The May event was born from the idea of overturning custom: we usually summoned all wine enthusiasts to the Fortezza da Basso, this year we will be the ones to go look for them and meet them in the city. A new way of bringing the product to the consumer, true and real recipient of all our efforts, and spread the Chianti style to the new generations”.
“Chianti continues to grow in the glass and this is the most important fact after years of sacrifices by companies in the restructuring of their vineyards. We arrive with high-level products and this gives us the possibility of being able to face world markets with great serenity - underlines President Busi -. Our business cards are history and quality”.
According to Artea data, the harvest 2024 of the Chianti Consortium recorded a grape production of over 1 million and 150 thousand quintals, a wine production of 805.796 hectolitres, with a claimed surface area of 13.642 ha.
