From December 1st 2025, and for the following six months, the artisans of Central Market will join the project "The good does good” proposing a special dish dedicated to the initiative. It will be a representative dish of each shop, accessible to all thanks to a maximum price of 10 euro. For every dish sold, 0,50 euros will be donated to the Meyer Foundation: a simple gesture, daily, which transforms the pleasure of food into concrete help.
In addition to fundraising, the Central Market will offer the families of young patients a dedicated voucher, designed to provide a moment of refreshment and normality during the treatment process.
The initiative was born in collaboration with theMeye Children's Hospitalr, nationally and internationally recognized excellence in pediatric care and research, as well as a point of reference for welcoming families. Solo nel 2024, the “Family Welcoming” project he supported 674 families coming from Tuscany, from the rest of Italy and from abroad, guaranteeing free hospitality in apartments and dedicated facilities and alleviating a health inconvenience at the same time, emotional and economic.

“The Mercato Centrale Florence is not just a place where you eat, but a square made up of people, relationships and responsibilities - points out Umberto Montano, president of the Market on the first floor –. Support those going through difficult times, especially when it comes to children and families, it is a moral duty even before a choice. This is why we asked our artisans to join together, transforming daily work into a concrete gesture of solidarity towards the city and towards an extraordinary excellence such as Meyer”.
“The one with the first floor of the Central Market – afferma Alessandro Benedetti, general secretary of the Meyer Foundation – it is now a consolidated friendship. We are deeply grateful to the sensitivity of the owners and the artisans who have chosen to support a fundamental project for the families of children who every day, from all over Italy and beyond, they rely on Meyer for treatment: that of reception”.
This collaboration arises from the shared desire to generate value for the territory and strengthen the bond with the Florentine community, putting a common principle at the center: be close to those who need it most, with concrete and daily gestures.
