The small territory ofCampello sul Clitunno (Pg), in the center of the Assisi-Spoleto olive belt, guardspearls of inestimable value: in the hills, itwo castles nestled among the olive trees, true open-air museums, Pissignano Alto and theCampello Alto Castle, in the plain, theSmall temple on the Clitunno which is part of the serial site “The Lombards in Italy. Longobards (568-774 d.C.)” which this year celebrates the tenth year since its inclusion in the List ofUNESCO World Heritage and the nature park ofSources of the Clitunno which preserves the sources of the Clitunno river.
Èper celebrare and promote these beauties andthe very high quality of extra virgin olive oil, that comesfrom heroic cultivations located on the hills thatthey surround the castles, than in Campello sul Clitunno (Pg), the 14 and the 21 November, the “Feast of the Oil Mills and Castles” will be held, a new oil-gastronomic event, which enriches the program of Frantoi Aperti in Umbria and which enhances the main product of the territory, extra virgin olive oil, paired with prized truffles.
The “Festival of Oil Mills and Castles” unfolds in two moments and two places:
Sunday 14 November the event will be held for the whole day atCampello Alto Castle, magnificent and protected place, with breathtaking views, placed at 514 mt s.l.m. Throughout the day, producers, artists, innovatori, they will set up the spaces of the village, life, the box (in kitchens, in the bedrooms, in taverns), sharing their passions and their knowledge through stories, artisan workshops and musical moments. It will be held in the Castle“Wild | Of Healthy Plant, Shoots of Future installations” which will offer opportunities forknowledge of nature and its relationship with man, small nuclei of events will germinate, all linked by an underground and "wild" plot. Art, music, poetry, small producers, open dialogues, a web of experiences linked to man's relationship with nature.
Sunday 21 November instead the event will be held in the square ofhamlet of Bianca di Campello sul Clitunno, in the lowland part of the territory, with the Extra Virgin Olive Oil Market Exhibition. and other products of the countryside and forest, extra virgin olive oil tastings led by an expert oleologist, guided visits to the Tempietto sul Clitunno and the Clitunno Springs.
Experiences among the olive trees of the heroic cultivations of the Olivata belt and in the foliage of the forestThere will be numerous opportunitiesgastronomic experiences in Nature, to learn about the two precious local products: the extra virgin olive oil. of the heroic cultivations between the hills of the Olivata belt and the prized black truffle.“E.v.o. oil. Experience”, with walks in the Moraiolo olive groves with the possibility of participating in the olive harvest, followed by visits to the oil mill with practical demonstrations of processing and oil tastings (expected on 21 November), and“Tartufo Experience”, with walks among the foliage of the Pettino woods, beautiful mountain and panoramic location in 1000 mt s.l.m. of the municipality of Campello sul Clitunno, in search of the prized black truffle, in the company of dogs and expert quarriers (expected on 14 November).

Art Experience|In Nature: trekkingbetween castles, the olive groves, the villas and stops for artistic experiencesIn Nature.The walks will be an opportunity for contemporary artists involved in the exhibition#Umbra Key | In Nature to guide them in reading the landscape according to their particular vision (in programma il 21 November).
Trekking between fairy tales and nature, reserved for children come on 5 to 12 years and parents; an excursion accompanied by the narration of fairy tales among the woods and olive trees, led by the artist Loretta Bonamente which will involve children in telling stories about trees, the olive trees and the oil and at the end a brunch with music at the Castle (scheduled for Sunday 14 November).
