Haizhen Wang Spring Summer 2013

The Spring Summer 2013 collection of Haizhen Wang, is inspired by historical Japanese armour and the works of Spanish born architect Santiago Calatrava, who creates buildings where lines, parallels and contrasts are in clear focus.
The same theme is also interpreted through looking at the contrasts revealed between masculine and feminine characteristics, and how proportions are displayed upon the human form. The garments draw on the structures found in Calatrava’s works; precise lines, shadows and contrasts between structures and materials, light and dark, space and form.
This is translated through feminine and masculine attributes.
Elegant silhouettes are balanced with Wang’s articulate precision of tailoring where draping is married alongside the most technical shapes.
The introduction of new and unconventional materials is also an essential part of the collection. A collaboration with Architect and foot wear designer, Bryan Oknyansky includes theuse of a 3D touch printer by Bits From Bytes, The top end technology has allowed the creation of 3D accessories andfootwear that further celebrates Haizhens signature themes where architecture is further explored.
