90dB Festival – Winter Edition | sound art, media art and concerts

The cultural association presents moorroom, in the spaces of the Ex-Mill Latin, the winter edition of the festival, 90db Festival – Winter Edition, which sees scheduled an exhibition of sound art, media art and seven concerts, under the artistic direction of Massimiliano Busti, Rosanna Palermo and Stefano Tedesco.
Continuing the process started with the previous editions, 90dB Festival – Winter Edition intende proporre a Roma – l’eccellenza della ricerca artistica contemporanea, deepening experimentation related to sound art and media art, as an instrument of territorial survey, urban and architectural, closely related to the use of new technologies 90dB Festival - Winter Edition is implemented with the support of the Culture and Tourism, Department of Culture Roma Capitale.

90db Festival - Winter Edition opens Saturday 14 February 2015, pm 19.00, at the facilities of AlbumArte Project Space.
Florian Tuercke (1977, Germany) presenta The Structural Sound Project Rome – Part 1, project created especially for the festival: a work of art sound participatory, that explores the sounds of the city to create a sound interactive map. The artist describes the methods used, distributing the kits operating the public, invited to place, in various areas of the city (Ostiense, Appia Antica), microphones capable of recording the sound waves internal to materials. The microphones are then mapped to an online map, accessible on the website of the Festival (90dbfestival.org) and accessible by an interactive station set up in the spaces of the Ex-Latina Paper Mill.
The presentation follows the musical performance of Fabio Perletta (1984, Italy), whose artistic research investigates the perceptual relationships between space and sound waves. Perletta offers the public the performance immersive Interstitial Spaces.

The festival continues, on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 February 2015, involving spaces of the Ex-paper mill in Latin Appia Antica Regional Park.
Saturday 21 February, pm 18.00, opens the exhibition of sound art and media art with the works of Nonotak, duo dall'illustratrice Noemi Schipfer (1988, France) and architect and musician Takami Nakamoto (1988, Japan), Florian Tuercke (1977, Germany) and Francesco Giannico (1979, Italy).
The artists will present respectively: Day Dream, an audiovisual installation able to immerse the viewer in an environment of sounds and bright geometries; The Structural Sound Project Rome – Part 1, work of sound art made with the help of the public, to which, the day of 14 February, was handed a kit with microphone and instructions for use; Metrophony, testimony aural, reworked electronically, a trip along the entire route of the line B of Rome's metro.
Concerts: Ex-Mill Latin
Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 February are scheduled six concerts that offer an overview of the new frontiers related to sound experimentation internationally, from improvisation all'elettroacustica, electronics audio-visual performance.
Saturday 21 February, pm 20.30, perform on stage: Francesco Giannico, whose research is related to the soundscape; XX XY, duo format Sladzana Bogeska (1979, Republic of Macedonia) and Giuseppe Pradella (1975, Italy), combining studies on three-dimensional graphics to the sound through innovative digital media; and, for the first time in Italian, i Nonotak con la performance Late Speculation, forty minutes of live during which the artists play with the visual perception, sound and spatial, through a reference light and sound that gives rise to intangible architectures.
Sunday 22 February, pm 20.30, scheduled concerts: Pierre Bastien (1953, France) who performs accompanied by sound objects assembled with parts of the game Meccano; John Chantler (1974, Australia), for the first time in Italian, whose electronic music is produced through its modular synth; and Joseph Ielasi (1974, Italy), that in his performances creates a electroacoustic music with guitar and electronics.
